Customer description

IPR Intelligente Peripherien für Roboter GmbH was founded in 1989 and is now an internationally active specialist for robotics and automation solutions. With its headquarters in Eppingen, a subsidiary in the USA and sales offices in Mexico and China, the company employs around 110 people. The company develops and produces intelligent components and modular systems for handling, assembly and service robotics.

In addition to the components, IPR also carries out projects in cavity preservation, so-called hole sealing and battery coating for well-known German car manufacturers. International industrial companies rely on IPR's expertise when it comes to making processes more efficient, precise and future-proof.

Without tacto

Before working with Tacto, Procurement at IPR had a strong operational focus and was more of an "internal ordering office" within the organization. Clear structures, transparent processes and strategic approaches were lacking. Documents such as NDAs or certificates were not systematically recorded, supplier performance and risk assessments only existed to a limited extent and new suppliers could be added to the ERP system in an uncontrolled manner.

With Tacto

In order to achieve ISO 9001 recertification and future-proof the company, particularly in the area of strategic purchasing, IPR opted for Tacto as the central AI system for Procurement from January 2025. The focus was on creating clear structures and introducing standardized and intelligent processes. Tacto made it possible to create transparency in the supplier base, take data to a new level, record documents systematically and intelligently and introduce integrated performance and risk assessments. This laid the foundation not only for making Procurement audit-capable, but also for making it more efficient and strategic in the long term and equipping it with the latest AI technology.

Results achieved

Successful ISO 9001 certification in Procurement

Transparency through supplier evaluation and document management

Transformation from operational ordering office to strategic purchasing function

"With Tacto, we have created the basis for successful Procurement : Routine work disappears through automation, capacity for strategic work is created - and as a result we also passed the ISO 9001 certification without any problems."
