Customer description
The family-owned company KNOLL Maschinenbau GmbH, which has been managed by the second generation since 1970, is a market leader in the production of conveyor and filter systems for metal processing. With its products, KNOLL offers added value for industries in which metal is machined, including mechanical and plant engineering, the automotive industry, aerospace, medical technology, energy technology and other industrial sectors.
As a new business area, KNOLL is developing automated assembly and transport systems for production, such as driverless transport systems. As part of its further development, the company is focusing on internationalization - with existing subsidiaries in Asia, America and Europe - as well as on process automation and digitalization in production and logistics processes.

Without tacto
KNOLL was pursuing the goal of managing purchasing processes more efficiently and on a more data-based basis - but encountered limited transparency in the process. Key figures such as the purchasing volume by Categories, price developments or supplier evaluations could only be brought together from different systems with considerable manual effort.
When the Supply Chain Due Diligence Act came into force, new challenges arose: the legally required assessments of suppliers with regard to human rights and environmental standards needed to be mapped with as little additional administrative effort as possible - ideally integrated into the existing procurement processes.
