Customer description
SCHWING Stetter has been a leader in the field of concrete and its processing for almost 90 years. As the world's leading system house for concrete construction machinery, SCHWING Stetter offers the entire spectrum of ready-mix concrete technology - from production, transportation and placement of the concrete through to recycling. In addition, SCHWING Stetter develops pumping systems for industry and the environment as a second mainstay. SCHWING Stetter has a global presence with production sites in the USA, Brazil, India, Austria, Serbia and Germany and has experienced strong growth in recent years.

Without tacto
The implementation of the CBAM regulation presented SCHWING Stetter with new challenges, particularly in terms of data, processes and communication with suppliers. In order to correctly fulfil the reporting obligations, CBAM-relevant materials such as steel and aluminum had to be systematically identified, quantities calculated and specific supplier data collected.
It quickly became apparent that many suppliers had hardly any knowledge of the new requirements - which made it even more difficult to obtain information. Without digital support, the implementation effort would not only have been enormous, but could also have led to delays or incorrect reports.

Results achieved
Fully automated mapping of CBAM processes based on existing purchasing data
90% time saving due to elimination of manual evaluations
High acceptance among suppliers thanks to integrated training measures
"With the CBAM solution from Tacto, we save one full-time employee and around €100,000 per year. It has become apparent that our suppliers' knowledge of CBAM is still at a very low level when they receive the queries. There is little knowledge of the requirements. This is where supplier training is of great value. This makes Tacto truly unique as a supplier in the field of CBAM."

Outlook with Tacto
SCHWING Stetter plans to use the CBAM implementation as a blueprint for further regulatory requirements. Obligations from the LkSG and ESG criteria are also to be mapped digitally with Tacto in future - integrated into the existing purchasing processes and with high scalability for international growth.
